Local Guthrie infrastructure projects

ODOT has periodically shaped Guthrie-area traffic decisions, including funding a c.2000 traffic signal at the Division and Industrial intersection, awarding a nearly $1 million contract to pave sections of Industrial and Pine roads, and rejecting the City of Guthrie's initial plan for two closely spaced median breaks at the I-35 and Noble Street interchange, which forced the city to eliminate one of the proposed curb cuts.

Road usage charge pilot program

Beginning in 2021 under House Bill 1712, ODOT ran a pilot program asking 445 volunteer motorists to simulate a per-mile road usage fee, promoted through the website FairMilesOK.com and backed in part by a $1.9 million federal grant as part of a roughly $4 million effort. State Representative Brian Hill and Senator John Haste, who carried the legislation, announced in late 2024 that they would not advance the plan's second phase. In October 2025, reporting found that ODOT's domain for the program had lapsed and been taken over by foreign operators redirecting it to gambling content, with links to the hijacked domain still active on ODOT's own website at the time.
