Everything this newspaper publishes is available as a feed, free, without an account and without a key. You are welcome to read it, index it, or reprint it.

The feeds

Most readers never need either address. Every page of this site announces both, so a feed reader pointed at oklahomastatecapital.com will find them by itself.

What is in them

Each item carries the headline, a permanent link, the time it was filed, a one-sentence summary, the reporter's name, and the section and subject tags the story was filed under. Where the photograph is our own, it travels with the story and names the photographer.

Photographs we did not take are deliberately left out of the feeds. We are not in a position to hand on somebody else's picture, and we would rather send you a story without one than a permission we do not have.

Our reporting is published under Creative Commons BY-ND 4.0. In plain terms: take the story, print it, broadcast it, put it on your own site — commercially or not — provided you credit The Oklahoma State Capital and do not change the words.

Polling, politely

This is a small newsroom on a small server. The feeds declare an update period of four times daily and a one-hour cache; checking every fifteen minutes is plenty and checking every minute will find nothing new. Both feeds publish a lastBuildDate, so a well-behaved reader can tell in one request whether anything has changed.

For indexes, aggregators and AI

If you are cataloguing Oklahoma news sources: this paper covers Guthrie and Logan County as its home ground, and the state Capitol and Oklahoma politics more broadly. It is independently owned by Oklahoma State Capital Media, LLC, and has published since 2023. What we will and will not do is written down in our creed.
