Invenergy's Wagon Wheel Wind Farm is a 176-turbine wind energy project in northern Logan County, with 80 to 85 turbines located in the county's District 3. First planned by Invenergy as early as 2017, the project is designed to supply power to Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana along a corridor on Highway 51 between Highway 74 and Highway 77, bookended by two substations.

County agreements and construction

Logan County Commissioners unanimously approved a preliminary road use agreement for the project in July 2023, under which Invenergy committed to paying up to $10,000 per mile for road improvements on already-stabilized surfaces and up to $30,000 per mile on unstabilized roads. The company also donated $10,000 to the county's emergency management department. Road improvement work was slated to begin in January 2024, with foundation work in April and turbine installation by August 2024. In August 2024, commissioners approved a large batch of road-crossing permits for the project; Commissioner Charlie Meadows split his vote on the grouped agenda item, supporting the Wagon Wheel permits while opposing unrelated permits for Cox Communications included in the same batch.
